Garage Storage related FAQ's:
What is an overhead storage unit?
An overhead storage unit is a 4'X4' metal grate with a powder-coated white finish that will not rust that is suspended from your garages ceiling joists. It can be suspended up to 40 inches from the ceiling.
What is the capacity of each overhead unit?
Each unit will hold up to 250 lbs. and about 6 18 gal. totes. Or any number of other items that you see fit to store in them.
Are there other sizes to the overheads?
Yes, there is a 4'X5' unit which holds 300 lbs. and can be suspended up to 40 inches from the ceiling.
Do you offer any other products?
Yes, we also offer 2'X4' industrial strength shelving which is sold in pairs. It holds 150 lbs. per 2'X4' shelf. We typically install these about 6 ½ feet off of the garage floor. They frequently are sold in conjunction with the overhead units, or, in 'adult' communities, by themselves.
Can I buy these products at a 'retail' store?
These units are industrial strength and are 'NOT' available at any retail store. In fact, I'm the exclusive dealer for these units on the Delmarva Peninsula!
How much do they cost?
The overhead storage units are very affordable. The cost depends on the quantity installed and the type of unit installed. But the price you would be charged does include installation by a certified manufacturer installer. The 'typical' 4 overhead storage unit installation costs under $800.
How many units would I need?
A typical 2 car garage would have 4 units installed or possibly more depending on the layout of the garage and your storage needs.
How do these units compare to slot wall storage?
You get so much more storage with overhead storage and at such a far less cost you would be amazed! For example, a typical 4 overhead storage unit installation would give you about 64 sq. feet of storage space and hold up to 1,000 lbs of your 'precious stuff' stored in boxes and totes. If you compare this to an 8'X8' slot wall installation, which I do offer, you could only hang rakes, shovels, and lighter items on small shelves, in baskets or in small cabinets. None of your boxes and/or totes could be stored using the slot wall method. And, the cost of this small and limited slot wall installation would be about 50% more then the overhead storage installation.
How long does it take to install?
It would take about 3 hours for a certified manufacturer installer to install 4 overhead storage units depending on the garage design.
When can I have them installed?
We stock all the products we sell. Thus, it is only a matter of scheduling a date and time on our installation calendar. Normally, you will have your units installed within a few days.
Do you offer any other products?
We offer a wide range of accessories that can be used on the overhead shelving as well as other items like bike hoists and golf wall caddies to mention on 2. Click here for the Garage Storage showroom
